Two pools, two jobs
A useful mental model is to treat the Blood Altar and your Soul Network as separate accounts. Altar LP handles altar-based processing. Your personal network powers bound or activated tools and other player-linked systems. Moving through the mod becomes much clearer once you check which pool a mechanic is actually drawing from.
Bind before you depend
When an item is meant to belong to a player, bind it as soon as you make it and verify the connection before relying on it during exploration. In multiplayer, this prevents confusion over whose network is paying the cost.
Budget for utility
Do not run your network at the absolute minimum. Utility magic is most valuable when it is available on demand, so keep a reserve instead of spending every point on the next craft. Think of the reserve as operating capital for your build.
Field checklist
- Check your network before long trips.
- Keep altar crafting and network refilling as separate routines.
- In multiplayer, label or store bound items carefully.
