FAQ

Blood Magic Mod FAQ: fast answers for common stalls.

Short explanations first. Exact recipes still belong to your installed version and JEI.

01Why does an altar recipe stop partway through?

The most common cause is insufficient LP or throughput. Confirm the recipe in JEI, then check whether the altar can hold and receive enough LP to finish the process.

02Is altar LP the same as my Soul Network?

Treat them as separate pools. The altar uses its own stored LP for altar processing, while player-bound systems can draw from your personal Soul Network.

03Why does a Hellfire Forge recipe have ingredients but not craft?

Demonic Will can be an additional requirement. Check the amount and storage state of Will, not only the visible crafting ingredients.

04Do I need every type of rune?

No. Choose runes around your current bottleneck: generation, capacity, transfer, or speed. A balanced altar is usually better than maximizing one stat blindly.

05Why do older guides look different from my game?

Blood Magic has changed across Minecraft generations. Older guides may cover pre-1.8, 1.12.2, or earlier Blood Magic versions. Use a guide that matches your installed build.

06Should I install JEI?

Yes for most modded setups. The official Blood Magic project recommends JEI, and modpacks can change recipes from defaults.

07How much space should I leave around the altar?

Leave more room than the first tier appears to need. Future altar tiers expand the structure, and extra walkways help with maintenance and automation.
